Out of surgery

Audrey had her surgery this morning around 9:00 a.m. The surgeon said that the procedure went really well. It actually took him a little less time than he was anticipating. Audrey is a little bit fussy of course but the nurses said that most babies are usually more upset than she is and even after she was coming out of her anesthesia that she smiled at them groggily. Thank you to Pastor John, my parents, Candice, and Marie for being there this morning. It really helped to ease my mind and not concentrate too much what was going on during the surgery. You were all so wonderful to us. Also, thanks to my friends at MOPS! Your gift bag was very useful and fun as well. I'm so glad that I've made such wonderful friends!

We are still at the hospital now. She has to stay at least one night so they can monitor her. She still has lots of wires and stuff hanging out of her including a catheter which she really doesn't like. She just wants to stand and move and keeps disconnecting her IV and catheter bag but all that's okay because her moving means she's feeling pretty good. As I write this in the children's hospital waiting room (they have computers here for us to use! Isn't that nice?!) Granseur is cuddling Audrey while she takes a nap. I got to hold her a little bit today but she REALLY wants her daddy. I think its sweet. Speaking of which...Granseur is such a good daddy. Audrey has unhooked the connection to her catheter bag a few times and Granseur has gotten her bloody urine on his pants, but he doesn't care. He's just continuing to hold her and love her. She will still have all the "wires" until morning but should be able to get them off then and if she's doing well, we should be able to go home tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks again for everyone's generosity during this time.

Even if things don't go as smoothly as you hope tonight and tomorrow, always remember this...
"I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11.

I will be praying for you guys and call me later to let me know what day you need me to watch Audrey.

I'm glad everything went smoothly. It is a good sign that she's moving around. It's going to take more than surgery to keep her down!! Let me know if there's anything I can do!!
